Haridwar to Barkot

This morning, depart for Barkot, located on the foot of Yamunotri. On arrival at Barkot, check in to your hotel/camp. The rest of the day is free to relax and restore your energy for the Pahad Yatra of Yamunotri the next day. Barkot

After having breakfast, you will begin the Pahad Yatra of Yamunotri (a 5 km trek). You can hire a palki or a horse for your trek (cost not included in the package). The trek passes through a lush green valley, a profusion of conifers, rhododendrons, cacti and several species of Himalayan shrubs. Yamunotri (at an altitude of 3,291 m), is the westernmost shrine of the Char Dhams dominated by Bandarpunch (6,361 m).

Barkot to Uttarkashi

After breakfast check out from the Kharsali hotel and drive to Uttarkashi. On arrival, check into the hotel. Uttarkashi is situated on the banks of the river Bhagirathi and is famous for its historical monuments, temples & ashrams. Uttarkashi

Early after breakfast (dine-in or packed) around 5 or 6 a.m., drive to Gangotri. Nestled in the magnificent Garhwal Himalayas, Gangotri is set at an altitude of 3,048 m. Upon arrival at Gangotri, take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges which is also called Bhagirathi at its origin. Visit the Gangotri Temple, the 18th-century temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga is located near a sacred stone where King Bhagirathi worshipped Lord Shiva. Ganga is believed to have touched earth at this spot. The temple is an exquisite 20 ft. high structure made of white granite. After performing pooja in the afternoon, drive back to Uttarkashi. Dinner & overnight stay will be at Uttarkashi.

Day 6

Uttarkashi to Guptkashi

After early morning breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Guptkashi. On arrival, check-in at the hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore Guptkashi town. Guptkashi to Kedarnath

Very early morning at 4 a.m., collect your packed breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Sonprayag. From there, you will have to take a local jeep to reach Gaurikund. The cost of the jeep ride will be INR 80 per head and the jeep will have to be hired on the spot. From Gaurikund, start your 16 km trek to Kedarnath. You can hire a palki or a horse for your trek. Mandakini, one of the main tributaries of the Ganges originates at Kedarnath and flows through Gaurikund. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the govt. camps/lodges (only basic accommodation is available on a sharing basis excluding dinner). Day 8

Kedarnath to Guptkashi

Early in the morning, get up before dawn and after taking a bath, you are at the temple by 4:45 a.m. for the 'Abhishek’ to Kedarnath Shiva. Everyone can go inside Garbha Griha and touch the idol. After darshan and puja, come out of the temple and return to the govt. camps/lodges. Later you'll start the return trek of 16 km from Kedarnath to Gaurikund. In Gaurikund, you will have to take a local jeep to reach Sonprayag. The cost of the jeep ride will be INR 80 per head and the jeep will have to be hired on the spot. The vehicles will wait for you in the Sonprayag car parking to take you to your hotel/camps. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Guptkashi. Badrinath to Rudraprayag

In the afternoon by 1 p.m., drive back to Rudraprayag via Karanprayag. Rudraprayag is a small pilgrim town on the holy confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini. On arrival, check-in at the hotel.
